ALACAT, the Federation of Nationla Associatioans of International Freight Forwarders and Logistics Operators of Latin America and the Caribbean, hold soon its annual congress 2011!
The ALACAT congress is the consultative body of the Federation on topics that are relevant to the activities developed by freight forwarders and logistics operators. The programs of the Congresses are carried out through the presentation of topics by special speakers and by work committees in charge of general or specific issues. In 2011, Colombia has been chosen as the country to hold the Congress, which will take place in the beautiful city of Cartagena, May 1 through 4, 2011.

The quantity of quotas concerning the number of trips of Polish trucks to Russia were expired early this year, due to the fact that these quotas are negotiated bilaterally by Poland and Russia. Therefore no Polish trucks were permitted to pass the Russian border for a while. According to our Working Group Road adviser from Poland, Mr Wojciech, the situation has been normalised. Polish haulier just received Russian road permission. It means polish trucks are available on the market ready to load shipment all over Europe.
Registration is now open for the International Transport Forum's 2011 summit, to be held from 25-27 May. Transport Ministers, industry leaders and experts from around the world will gather in the city of Leipzig, Germany to debate the theme "Transport for Society". "Future transport systems will have to meet the aspirations of about 9 billion people, most of whom will live in cities. In addition, rising incomes will place higher expectations on transport services" said Jack Short, Secretary General, International Transport Forum.
