FIATA / UIC: 5th Market Place Seminar in Vienna/Austria, 18-19 April 2013

FIATA, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders and the International Union of Railways, UIC are jointly organising the 5th Market Place Seminar in Vienna on 18th and 19th of April 2013. The Market Place Seminar aims to create opportunities for increased cooperation in the rail freight business by offering a common platform for railway undertakings, freight forwarders and their customers.

The previous editions themes respectively focused on Rail Transport in Eastern Europe in Prague, French-Iberian Rail Link in Barcelona, Rail Transport connecting South Eastern Europe and the Middle-East in Istanbul and Challenges of Intermodal Hinterland Traffic in Hamburg. This year’s seminar in Vienna and will focus on

Intercontinental corridors – New opportunities for Rail Freight?

The discussion will comprise topical items such as:

  • Eurasian South-East Corridors
  • New business perspectives in Europe – Asia traffic
  • The future development of railway policy in Europe
  • Intermodal and distribution solutions

Exceptionally high level speakers have confirmed their participation; the event will be concluded by a technical visit at the Tri-Modal Terminal in Wien Freudenau.
